Volunteers

Caring is our Gift!   That is the motto of Hospice Care of the West.

We are very proud of our volunteers because they exemplify the heart of hospice!

Patient care volunteers give of their time to our patients and families. We offer many volunteer services that are specific in meeting individual needs.

There is no doubt that this is the most difficult time in the lives of our patients and their families.  Without volunteers, our team could not provide the companionship so many of our patients long for.

Some of our Volunteer Programs include:

  • Friendly ~ Social visits with patient and family members
  • Music Therapy ~ Currently the Singing TV Anchorman provides vocals and guitar tunes from all eras. We also have a bagpiper and Opera Singers available upon request and availability
  • Pet Therapy Dogs through our volunteer program but we also feature pets from “All God’s Creatures”
  • Life Review Video Program
  • Massage Therapy (The Heart Touch Project)
  • Vigil Volunteers ~ So no one dies alone
  • The Dreamcatchers Team ~ Making patient wishes come true
  • Supper Club ~ Our volunteers provide a dinner for our patient and their caregiver to help ease some of the day to day pressures
  • Administrative/Office ~ General office duties
  • Bereavement program ~ Follow up phone calls and mailings
  • Lap Blanket Program
  • Family Portraits ~ Photographers provide their services taking pictures of patient with their family members
  • Respite ~ Brief periods of respite to relieve family member/caregiver

If caring is YOUR gift, come join our team!
